This site is dedicated to the individuals who get "the call" from upper management asking: "What happened?  When did it start?  How many users were affected?  Did we lose any data?  How long until it will be fully repaired?  What steps have we taken to ensure this does not happen again?" I have answered "the call" at various points in my career ranging from Technician, Lead Technician, Engineer and Senior Engineer.  The answer is always better when you can quickly and accurately answer each question!  A reliable network management station can greatly ease the pain by helping you isolate and identify issues in near real time.  When your management station is not alerting you to critical failures, it should be helping you identify trends, increasing security and optimizing your network assets in general.

While this site comes online:
We salute our favorite Network Management Station "Operator" of all time!

I do have a VMware version of the Cacti NMS I run on FreeBSD found here!

Thank you!
